Today is International Literacy Day!

We celebrated by starting our day reading some good books! We read with friends, teachers and a few little mice friends!

We gathered to sing the alphabet and completed the calendar in the afternoon. Miss Kathy introduced us to her favorite color...YELLOW! We answered Miss Kathy as she asked us "What is this?" for some fun yellow objects.

We continued focusing on walking ON the line today. We also worked on walking IN a line! We got tricky and practiced side-stepping along the blue line!

I get by with a little help from my friends!

What a fun story we shared today! It had a hungry, and greedy, snake looking to eat some little, warm and tasty mice! Luckily, there was a very
clever mouse in the story...

We practiced counting mice as we demonstarted one to one correspondence. We could only count a mouse when he was placed INSIDE of a shape. The last number we say tells us "How Many" mice. We also had the opportunity to feel some snake skin, that had been shed, and talk about snake safety (Don't touch a snake that you see outside. Go tell an adult!)

The afternoon class used our wooden lines and curves to
dance the Hokey Pokey.

The morning class enjoyed some free play time!

We had a fun & yummy snack! We had a jelly sandwich and
 drank applesauce with a straw!

A BIG welcome to Miss Pam! She is "official" now. We are happy to have her as a Teaching Assistant
 with us every day!
