Beautiful butterflies!
Our day started with a fun art project. We made butterflies to add to our growing garden project. Each child choose 2 or 3 colors of paint.
They squeezed out drops of paint on one half of the butterfly shape.
Then they folded the butterfly shape in half. When we opened it up,
we had beautiful butterflies with symmetrical wings!

The morning class sang their learning songs and worked
on telling their first & last names.
What color are your glasses?

The afternoon class completed calendar, worked on alphabet fluency
and told their first & last names, as well as their age.

We worked on some motor skills.

Miss Kathy shared the butterfly life cycle poster with the morning class.

The afternoon class read a newspaper that explained some of the
adaptations butterflies have to protect them from being eaten by birds.
We also had fun finding the animal that was different in each row.
Wow, that last one was tricky!

The morning class enjoyed the song called "My Teacher Draws".
Then we traced a circle, square & triangle. We could color in the
shape or turn it into a picture.

We had a fun time learning together!
