Outside recess today!!

We began our day playing outside on the playground! It was our first time to explore the fun equipment on the primary playground. Thank you to our parents that made sure we had this fun equipment to play on this year! We all practiced our balancing skills as we walked & side stepped along the curb, then we jumped into the sand and enjoyed running, climbing and sliding! This is how we will start each week, as long as the weather cooperates!

Let's get the sand out of our shoes BEFORE we go inside!

At morning circle, we sang some of our favorite songs. We learned a
new color song about orange. We practiced saying complete sentences
to request one of the orange toys.

The afternoon class sang songs and completed the calendar lesson. Miss Kathy got silly again... She sang our names in a very tricky, rhyme, kind of way. We had to listen closely to see if we could recognize our own name when she said it with a "P" sound at the beginning. It's the same sound as the beginning of the word pumpkin. Miss Pathy (sounds like Kathy) is very silly!

We had fun with the 5 Little Pumpkin chant, using the chart. The morning
class had fun coloring their own 5 little pumpkins. We had to use the color
that Miss Kathy called out. Then we cut along the line to cut the pumpkins apart. We will keep our pumpkins at school for a couple of days to work with them and then we will bring them home to play with you!

Pumpkins can roll.
Can you?

In the afternoon, we each got 10 pumpkins. We worked very hard
to write a number from 1-10 on the pumpkins. We used a pencil today,
then tomorrow we will trace over each numeral with a marker.

The strawberries and Mini-Nilla Wafers made a yummy snack today!
We had a great day!
