Another pumpkin kind of day...

In the morning, we had fun working our fine motor and visual-perception skills as we built with blocks and strung beads.

In the afternoon, we worked on our 10 little pumpkins when we arrived.
We used a marker to trace over our numerals.
We got to color and cut our pumpkins apart.

At circle we sang our songs, worked with the color orange and did some name reading. The afternoon class also completed the calendar lesson and were introduced to the term "ordinal numbers". We will work on answering questions about who is first, second...

Miss Melani brought some nice yoga music, and the mats, for us to gently stretch and focus on balance skills, as we calmed our bodies.

Miss Kathy shared a book about a little boy that wanted
to grow the biggest pumpkin for a contest.
He won!

In the morning, Miss Julie shared a fun rhyme about a mouse looking for a house. We each got our own mouse and house. We glued a face on the house and practiced acting out the rhyme with our own little mouse!
We are bringing these home to play with you!

In the afternoon, Miss Kathy's Wednesday group practiced ordering our 10 little pumpkins. Next, we looked at some pictures. After we named the picture, we decided if it started with a /p/ sound. We sorted the pictures by /p/ initial sound or not /p/ sound. Nice early literacy work!

Someone can sort the sounds all by himself!

Miss Julie's Wednesday afternoon group worked on sequencing Little Miss Muffett. What happened first, second, third... They also practiced answering different kinds of questions about the nursery rhyme.

It was another fun day learning with our friends!
