Monsters at school?
Yes, there were lots of monsters at school today!
Our day started with some monster building. We mixed and matched tops, middles and bottoms to create silly monsters. The morning class could also choose puzzle work. The afternoon class had the opportunity to build capital letters with the wooden lines and curves.
We sang our circle songs and worked with colored objects in the morning. Each child pulled a toy from the Jack-O-Lantern. They used a complete sentence to tell everyone what they had. Then they had to listen to my question about "Who" had different toys.
The afternoon class also completed calendar.
Miss Melani had a creepy obstacle course. There were spiders to jump over, rocks to step on to cross the creek, a spooky woods to walk through and a bat cave to crawl through. We sure have fun with our obstacle courses.
Watch out! That's a BIG spider! |
Hmmm... I'm keeping my eye on that spider! |
Miss Kathy shared a book about a BIG, GREEN MONSTER. We were not scared of him. We just told him to go away!
Miss Julie brought a big, green monster puppet for the morning class. They had fun building him and telling him to go away, piece by piece!
Miss Kathy worked on patterns with her Wednesday afternoon group, while Miss Julie had a spider sequencing lesson for her group.
It was a fun and busy day!
