WHERE are the buttons?
We all enjoyed painting with water colors when we arrived at school. We have to remember to rinse our brushes off between each color. We get to practice our correct pencil grasp when we hold the paintbrush.
The morning class sang the RED and YELLOW songs. Then we tried a little patterning exercise. We made a pattern of red, yellow, red, yellow...
The afternoon class completed the calendar. We are getting so good at saying the months of the year and the days of the week!
We loved watching a short video about Pete the Cat and his 4 groovy buttons. You can watch it at home, too, on youtube.
Next, we did a story re-tell about Pete and his buttons.
Then, we played a game with Miss Julie to find "WHERE?" Pete's buttons rolled to. We worked on signing "in" and "under".
Hide your eyes. |
Did Pete cry? Goodness NO! |
The button rolled away. |
The sign for "in". |
The sign for "under". |
The sign for "W". |
The morning class enjoyed working with the play tools and blocks.
The afternoon class practiced counting buttons, identifying and writing the numerals. We used small whiteboards to write on. They are so smooth and fun to write on.
