WE HAD A GOOD DAY!
This morning we explored building tall towers or long trains with the unifix cubes. There are lots of colors of cubes and we practiced counting them, too!
The afternoon class colored some small pictures in our school books using our favorite color. We practiced tracing around the picture, then coloring in the whole picture. We don't want to leave white areas in our pictures!
We sang our circle songs in the morning and completed calendar in the afternoon. The afternoon class is learning to "read" color words.
We had fun practicing some large motor skills today. We walked forward and backward on a line, jumped with both feet off the floor and hopped on one foot. They liked this and we decided that we could walk, jump and hop at home, too!
We have some great jumpers! |
Miss Kathy read some more in the Alphabet and Numbers book. We found a helicopter on the "H" page. We learned the very tricky sign for helicopter.
Someone had a hat with a flower today, just like in our book! |
Someone had a shirt with an eel on it, just like in our book! What are the chances of someone wearing an eel shirt on a day when there is an eel in our book? |
Miss Julie is a great story teller. Just look at how EVERYONE is looking and listening. We focused on "where" questions about the three billygoats gruff!
The morning class had a few minutes of block and tool time. We are begining to play together and are learning to share.
