A cat driving a bus???

Yes, Pete the Cat drives a bus.

We started our day with a fun sensory experience...writing in shaving cream!
We each got a big blob of shaving cream in front of us at the table. Then we used both hands to smear it all around. We tried to draw shapes and write letters. It's fun to smear the shaving cream to erasing and do it all again!

The morning class sang our circle songs. The afternoon class completed the calendar lesson and practiced writing numerals on individual whiteboards.

Miss Kathy read another book featuring Pete the Cat. We all like Pete and we enjoyed learning a new song...The Wheels on the Bus!

We can drive, too!

After the story we got up and moving. We acted out some of the actions from the book. We rolled around and around, we swished the wipers by raising our arms over our heads and moving "rainbow style" as we crossed our midline, we jumped up and down as the bus bumped along and we crawled around on all fours like the cat & dog passengers in the book.

The wheels go round and round...

...round and round!

The people go up and down...

The wipers go swish...

Everyone colored a small bus and cat to take home to remind us of
Pete and his newest adventure.

The morning class had a few minutes to practice their building skills!
