GOBBLE, GOBBLE....
Lot's of turkey talk today!

We began our day with a smooth sensory experience. We used shaving cream on the table to practice some of our writing strokes.

One friend REALLY liked the feel of the shaving cream :)

The morning class sang the alphabet, the shape song and some color songs.
We also worked with our names and initials at circle.

The afternoon class sang some learning songs and completed the calendar. We worked on our names and then Miss Kathy asked a new question... "How old are you?" We talked about the difference in how are you and how OLD are you questions. Then we practiced answering in a complete sentence.

We all turned into turkeys with Miss Melani today!
We gobbled as we wobbled along!

We read an informative poster all about turkeys.
 Are turkeys real? YES!
Turkeys spread their tail feathers, peck for food on the ground, fly low
and take dust baths. We tried it out to see if we would like to be a turkey.
What a bunch of turkeys!!

The morning class practiced some counting, focusing on one to one correspondence, and numeral identification.

The afternoon class did their Wednesday groups.
Miss Julie's group worked on word families. These words rhyme. The children picked a feather, said the word (making sure to say the beginning, middle and end sound) and then put the feather on the correct turkey.

Miss Kathy & Miss Cindy's groups practiced writing "H" in their school books.

Another great day learning together!

  1. Love the shapes and colors book. Mason really enjoyed reading it to me, and I really enjoyed reading him the Shel Silverstein poems in the back!
