Happy Thanksgiving!

This morning, back by popular demand, we explored in shaving cream!

Our afternoon began with some free writing & drawing!

Our morning circle was full of songs and name work.

The afternoon class sang songs and completed calendar.

Miss Melani brought another fun obstacle course for us. We helped
the turkey get his tail feathers all fanned out!

We talked about some of the things that might happen tomorrow. One of
the popular traditions is watching the Thanksgiving Day Parade! We watched
a few minutes of a video from a previous parade. We saw some marching bands, giant balloons and the surprise at the end!

The morning class had to do some major clean up after Miss Kathy made a mess. We had a BIG double sort to complete. First, we sorted many small toys by color. Next, we sorted the toys into categories of transportation or animals.

The afternoon groups wrote numbers to tell how many turkeys or
read the small booklets about animal feasts in the forest.

We enjoyed a quick snack together before we bid Happy Trails to our friends!
Happy Thanksgiving to all of you!

Thanksgiving Week!
We all had fun on the playground when we arrived at school today!

Peek-a-boo!

Miss Cindy pulled each of us to a table to work on a beautiful Thanksgiving keepsake for you! Look for it in our backpacks tomorrow!

The morning class sang our learning songs and worked with our names. We also got to use some rhythm sticks for counting and reviewing some spatial concepts. We had to keep the sticks low and in front of us to be safe!

The afternoon class sang our songs and completed the calendar. We discovered there are only two more days until Thanksgiving! We sang a song to remind us how to correctly form the numerals to 10.

We practiced a few of our large motor skills. We walked backwards, jumped,
and balanced on one foot in the morning. The afternoon class tried
 some hopping and galloping!

Miss Kathy talked about the Thanksgiving feast that many of us are so lucky to be have and share with our family and friends. But, we learned that forest animals also feast in the fall, when the weather is cooling down.

The morning class worked on some pre-writing strokes. We watched
and listened carefully as Miss Kathy reminded us to start at the top.
We made vertical and horizontal lines, crosses and circles. When we
make a circle, we start at the top, curve around, keep going and stop
when we reach the top again! We traced crosses and circles,
with alternating colors, to make a cool pattern!

The afternoon class worked in two groups today. We will complete one center today and the other tomorrow. One center had us working on print concepts, as we read booklets about the forest animal feasts. At the other center we counted turkeys and wrote the corresponding numbers.

We enjoyed some chips and salsa for snack today!
It was a fun and busy day (like every other day)!
