What can you do on a snowy day?

We warmed our fingers up with blocks and beads when we arrived at school.

We all wrote our names today!

At circle we sang our learning songs. We did some action counting
in the morning and the afternoon class completed the calendar; singing
our new days of the week song.

In the afternoon we got to use a new ABC visual. We practiced passing them around the circle so everyone gets one (take one, pass the rest to your neighbor - we are getting ready for kindergarten). In addition to working on alphabet fluency with our new pages, we are learning how to point UNDER each letter (which helps our eyes to focus on each letter) and understand print concepts (top to bottom and left to right). Pretty exciting stuff!

We needed to have a little movement break so we danced to a new
song called Shake Your Scarves. It's quite a catchy tune!

Our favorite and very capable volunteer, Miss Carley, read a fun
story that showed us what you can do on a snowy day.

In the morning Miss Kathy showed us how to draw a snowman. We simply drew 3 circles. Then we followed directions to color the top, middle and bottom circles. Our snowmen look great! Try it at home!

The afternoon class also made snowmen. They each had 3 square papers. They drew a circle on each one, then cut them out. They glued them on a paper and added some great details!

Again, children amaze me...
they all get the same assignment, directions and materials,
but each finished project is unique and full of the special
personalities of the artist!

I enjoyed learning from your sweet children today!
