HAPPY NEW YEAR !!

We enjoyed playing together on the playground when we arrived at school!

I spy, with my little eye...

Who is peeking?

Peek-a-boo!

Back to class...

but, first, let's get the sand out of our shoes!

We worked hard to remember all the routines for class! We sang the alphabet and color songs. We sang the shape song in the morning and talked about how many sides and corners each shape has. The afternoon class completed the calendar lesson. We were excited to start with the first month of the year!

Miss Kathy shared a story about some of the things that happen in winter.
We talked about how it gets cold here but it not too cold
and hardly ever snows!

Why is it winter?

In the morning we worked our fine motor skills by peeling snowflake stickers. Our pictures were very pretty and very "wintry"!

In the afternoon Miss Kathy talked about how important it is to always write your name on your papers at school. You have to be able to write it neatly and quickly. Starting this week we will begin a new routine of daily name writing. We will usually do it the first thing each day!

It was a great start to a new year!
We are looking forward to learning with our friends!
