We have butterflies!!!
Over the weekend we had all 10 butterflies emerge from their chrysalis'!!
It was very exciting to see!!
We worked with the bean bags today to help increase our attention to task, ability to wait for our turn & cross our body midline.
We sang our morning songs & completed our afternoon calendar time.
Miss Kathy read a book about a quiet cricket. It hatched from an egg. It wanted to greet the other insects but as it rubbed its wings together, nothing happened. Not a sound. The children helped read the last repeating line on each page. Then on the last page the cricket had grown enough that it finally could chirp. The book actually makes a chirping sound when you open the last page. EXCITING! This book was written by Eric Carle, the same author/artist that wrote The Very Hungry Caterpillar.
We enjoyed making a beautiful butterfly today. We had to pinch paper to tear it into small pieces. We used a clothespin & snack baggie to complete our project. We will bring them home tomorrow when the glue is dry.
It was a special day!
Ben loved bringing home his little sparkly butterfly.
