It was a caterpillar kind of day...
We worked our fine motor skills by cutting out insects when we arrived. We colored them, too!

Then after we had our circle & calendar times, Miss Kathy re read
The Very Hungry Caterpillar.
We then acted out the entire life cycle of a butterfyl!

First, the egg...

Next, a tiny & very hungry caterpillar hatches out...POP!

The caterpillar eats, & eats, & grows.

Next, the caterpillar forms a chrysalis around it's body. It rests & changes. Then a beautiful butterfly emerges!

The butterfly finds a flower to drink some nectar (flower juice).

After all that work, we were hungry, too. We enjoyed a hungry caterpillar snack. We had to pinch a toothpick to serve ourselves oranges, watermelon, strawberries & bananas. We also had a slice of chocolate cake - just like the hungry caterpillar in the story. We used straws to nibble small holes in our food!

Thanks to Abi & her Mom for the fun butterfly & frog headbands!!

It was an awesome day!!
