Eyes like arrows...
Our day started with exploring colors, puzzles and letters.

The BLUE glasses were popular this morning!

We sang the ABC's, the shape song & the RED song. We practiced reading our names and finding our initial letter on the ABC poster.

OUr motor skill this week is jumping over an obstacle with BOTH feet off the ground. For our new jumpers we used a line on the floor. Our more experienced jumpers used a 2" block. We start with our knees bent.

Miss Melani brought a challenging walking obstacle course for us today. WE walked sideways, with hands and feet on the circles. Then we walked a straight line on tiny circles. The morning class finished by walking up & down the stairs,
 with alternating feet.

Back to class...

Miss Julie introduced us to a new friend named Momo. We talked about using our eyes to look at people or materials when we are learning or communicating with others. We did a little exercise where we looked at a picture of a happy
face that looked at different things. When we looked closely at his eyes , we could tell which direction he was looking!

In the afternoon, we worked with big and little, wooden, lines and curves. Miss Kathy explained that we will use the lines and curves to draw shapes and write letters. We polished the wooden pieces and worked with a partner to
make a big and little circle.

Blueberries and alphabet cookies were an especially delicious snack!

FUN FRIDAY !!

We began the day exercising our creativity. The morning class did some contact paper art. We first had to listen carefully as Miss Kathy called a shape for us to find and place on our paper (small yellow circle, big red triangle...). Then we had some fun shapes to add to complete our beautiful art pieces.

In the afternoon we did some pretty water color art!

At circle we sang our songs and practiced talking into the microphone.

We worked on our standing on one foot skills. We asked the kids if they thought their parents could stand on one foot! Can you?

Miss Kathy shared a book about how a dinosaur behaves at school.
Does he growl? No!

We played a super fun game with Miss Julie called 1-2, Watch What I Do!
We marched around the room to music. When the music stopped we had to go to a spot to look and listen, as Miss Julie gave us a direction to do something using specific body parts.

In the afternoon, we finished our work on the red page. Ask us if we can spell red? (Everyone spelled it for me today with very minimal cueing!)

We had a fun Friday!
