Hey, all you turkeys...
We worked some puzzles and shapes on the light table
when we arrived today.
We learned all about a turkey life cycle today.
First the Momma makes a nest and lays her eggs.
Next, the baby turkeys hatch. They use an egg tooth to peck their way out.
The baby turkeys are called poults
They eat insects...yuck!
Then they grow up.
We made a funny turkey from a pinecone.
We left it at school today so the glue can dry.
We cut and ordered the turkey life cycle.
Then we glued it down and colored it.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, NICK!!!!!
It's a chicken...a duck...no, it's a turkey!
We started our day working with puzzles and
some fun, building shapes at the light table.

We learned about turkeys today. We know that they hatch from eggs and when they are young, they are called poults.
Miss Kathy taught us a silly song...
Gobble, gobble, gobble, gobble said the bird.
Gobble, gobble, gobble, gobble said the bird.
Mr. Turkey gobble, gobbles
and his feet go wobble, wobble.
Gobble, gobble, gobble, gobble said the bird.
Who likes turkeys? I do...
We did a color, cut, order & glue page to help us remember the life cycle of the turkey.

We made a fun turkey craft using a pine cone!
It will come home tomorrow when the glue is dry.

FUN FRIDAY!!
We warmed up our fingers with wikki stix shapes. A couple girls got very creative and made ghosts with their wikki stix!
At circle, we sang a song about Ten Little Indians and Ten Little Pilgrims. We also worked on identifying and ordering the numbers to 10. In the morning we each got a pilgrim and had to match the number to the Indian with the "same" number. The afternoon class played a game where we had to hide our eyes. When we opened our eyes, one of the numbers was turned over.
"What number is it?" "How did you know?"
We talked about strategies to use to figure it out.
We read a silly story about an old lady that ate too much food at Thanksgiving. Her family said, "Oh, no!' & "Ahhh..." So did we!
We did the Pattern Dance today and then made our own patterns with leaves & pumpkins made from Pasta. The morning made AB patterns and the afternoon made AAB patterns. (The glue was wet so we left them at school. We did bring home the leaf patterns we made last week.)
Everyone loved their banana snacks. We practiced saying and clapping all 3 syllables to say it correctly (after all they are not nanas).
HAVE A WONDERFUL WEEKEND!!

Hard workers this afternoon!!
I couldn't resist taking this picture of our color coordinated girls...so pretty!
We had a special helper ring the bell today. "Stop, LOOK & listen"!
Miss Kathy tossed us some bean bags with letters on them today. Then we had to be ready to toss our bean bags back when we said our letters!
We danced to one of our favorite songs today. It's called The Freeze. If you look closely, you can pick out the picture where we were frozen!
We continued to learn about the people of the first Thanksgiving. We found out what it would be like to be a pilgrim. We even looked at what kind of clothes they wore. Then we practiced our numbers as we sang, Ten Little Indian Boys & Ten Little Pilgrim Girls.
We practiced writing our numbers from 1-10.
We have many very hard workers learners in our class!
