Wonderful Wednesday!

*please, look for an small, but important, note coming home in backpacks tomorrow. It is about supporting one of our families in need. Thank you.*

Our morning began with shapes. We worked on tracing shapes, coloring them in (being careful to stay inside the shape lines) and writing our names. We had lots of different types of crayons to choose from. The most popular crayon is the Rock Crayons. (You can find them on line.)

Our afternoon had us exploring many materials to make capital letters.
 We also wrote our names.

We completed our morning circle songs and practiced counting into
the whisper phones.

The afternoon class completed the calendar. The children took turns
 "teaching" the calendar!

Miss Kathy shared a big book about a very curious cat that seems to find trouble every day of the week!

Miss Julie introduced us to some new vocabulary. We learned where different pets might live at our homes. Did you know that a rabbit lives in a hutch and a hamster lives in a cage?

The afternoon children had time to work with a partner to order the capital letters of the alphabet. Then we matched the lower case letters to the capitals.

We celebrated one of classmates birthdays this morning. His twin brother, in Miss Diane's class, brought his friends over to make ice cream sundaes! WOW...we could pick from strawberries, bananas, blueberries, pineapple, mini cookies, sprinkles, chocolate and whipped cream!! YUM!!
Happy Birthday boys!!
