WELCOME TO A NEW SCHOOL YEAR!!!!!

We are all happy to be back together at school. We are excited that Miss Cindy has returned and we welcome Miss Vicki (our new Teaching Assistant) and Miss Elaine (our new Occupational Therapist). We are also very glad that you are viewing our activities through our blog. We started our day exploring geometry with the 4 Square materials. We used vocabulary that included concepts about turning it over, flipping it, as well as color and shape labels.

We practiced our team work by passing a bean bag around the group.

The morning class enjoyed singing the ABC song, a counting song and the shape song. We enjoyed learning a new song about the color RED. We did some turtle talking & walking as we practiced saying a sentence with all the important words.

In the afternoon class we were introduced to a calendar. We will complete our calendar everyday. We will work on learning the months of the year, the days of the week, number recognition and counting. Miss Kathy will teach the calendar first. Then as we know more about how it works, each child will take turns doing parts of the lesson, until we can teach the calendar all by ourselves!

It was SO fun to practice our listening and following directions skills with the big parachute!

We practiced our cutting skills today. We cut strips of paper ON the lines. The morning group sorted the cut papers by color, while the afternoon class made patterns with theirs.

There was a little play time and then a yummy snack of milk & cookies!!
